Young Looney Inc. Urban Portraits

A chance encounter let to this photo shoot.  I was in an underground part of the center of The Hague where tunnels lead to stores/tram stops doing an "urban maternity" shoot with some friends.    Suddently, Daylobangz (below middle) was goofing off doing some dance moves behind my subjects.  Instead of getting upset, I simply say "Hey pal, want me to take your picture??  That lead to one single shot, which they loved.

That led to a flurry of texts and emails arranging a shoot in two days time which in turn led to my first photo shoot with a dance crew.. We met, and in the strangest of really cold (ie minus temperatures!) spells in March, came up with the following images of Young Looney Inc. !

These initial shots were done at our first location which was thankfully underground out of the wind.   The looks we got from passerby's were worth photos themselves.

The below jumping shot was probably my fave from the day, though I want to re-crop it to make it more centered.  This is pretty much straight out of camera.

After the last shot below of Joel, we switched to a more urban location.   That's the ever-evolving center of The Hague in the background (below).

What I found about this shoot that I didn't expect was just how nice and cool these guys were.  Had I not met them and seen them on the street I might have prejudged them to be punk-ass troublemakers just from the look of them.  Couldn't have been further from the truth actually.  Teaches me not to judge doesn't it?

Next I want to photograph one of the actual dance competitions they'll be dancing it.  All-in-all a productive and fun one hour worth of work.
