Fiona and Kevin, The Big Day

Yeah yeah, I've been waaay out of touch as life and too many weddings have gotten in the way of.. well... pretty much everything! I'm still working on finishing up Pt.3 of my "Portrait Theory".. so hopefully that'll be up soon.

The two wedding shoots I did in September (yeah, I'm very behind my updates) were humbling experiences.  Why you ask?  As anyone who knows me will attest, I'm not a very emotional guy, nor prone to any "aaaw cute" moments and typically hate the cheese factor in any photos... but I have to admit Fiona and Kevin's wedding hit me on a level I don't normally feel while shooting a job.

It didn't take long to see that Fiona was as happy as she's ever been before and the connection I shared with her and Kevin, comes through in the imagery.  I like to credit that to our  pre-shoot which allowed for everyone to get used to each other, but it was also something more primal and basic.  Joy.  Just look at the smiles Fi is flashing during the ceremony (see videos below) and you'll see what I mean.  And it was humbling that I got to share this moment with them.. pretty damn cool if I must say so myself!  It made me want to make sure I didn't screw anything up so I shot a lot more images than I normally do....just in case!

In the time since shooting the wedding I've introduced a new service into my packages, the "video slide-show"..yeah, not the most creative of names, I'll think of something better soon, I promise.

It's not quite a video, but it's much more than a simple slideshow.  And it's both a great way for the client to quickly (and hopefully interestingly) share some imagery from their special day (or normal photoshoot) with family and friends, and for me to promote my business.  Check out the three videos from the day long festivities:

This first one if from before the ceremony where Fi was getting ready.  Not even the crappy rainy weather could bring herdown!

The ceremony. Short, intimate, and special. So much laughter, so much smiling.

The party.. I can only imagine how things were had I been able to stay around for the 'real' partying!

Thanks again Fiona and Kevin, I had a great, and humbling time.  The very best of luck to you two.
